De Jonge did not want to answer the question of whether there will be some sort of priority regulation for people in crucial professions such as healthcare or education. “We are working hard on it, but the puzzle has not yet been completed.”
Earlier this week, the minister said that he hoped to give a definite answer today. “It is complex, because priority for one is delay for the other.”
In Friesland, care institutions have independent already agreed with the GGD that care workers can be given priority. Some companies and institutions also engage commercial providers to have their staff tested.
De Jonge doesn’t think that’s a good idea, he said. “Everyone is not a solution for himself.” Moreover, according to the minister, the commercial party often involves an unreliable rapid test. And if it is a normal reliable test “then that is lab capacity that the GGD could use”.
