Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bagal’s deputy secretary Soumya Chaurasya has been arrested in the coal mining scam case. After questioning, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recorded their arrest. It is reported that several central agencies have been questioning the deputy secretary for two months.
The ED conducted the search and arrest under the Money Laundering Act-2002. The case alleges that an additional fee of Rs 25 per tonne of coal transported from Chhattisgarh was illegally levied and the money was stolen. Last October, ED arrested three people, including IAS officer Sameer Bishnoi.
