On September 14, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Health adopted a joint resolution No. 38/135, which adjusts the age limit for starting classes in a number of sports, reports BELTA with reference to the National Legal Internet Portal.
Thus, the minimum age for practicing sports (with the exception of technical, aviation, military-applied sports, as well as sports included in the program of the Paralympic and Deaflympic Games) has been reduced: from 7 to 6 years — baseball, freestyle, from 8 to 7 years old — modern pentathlon, short track, from 9 to 8 years — Greco-Roman wrestling, water polo, triathlon, from 13 to 11 years old — weightlifting (girls).
The decision was made in accordance with the international practice of organizing sporting events in individual sports.
The resolution came into force on September 24.
