Minimum age for starting some sports lowered |  Children and parents |  Health

On September 14, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Health adopted a joint resolution No. 38/135, which adjusts the age limit for starting classes in a number of sports, reports BELTA with reference to the National Legal Internet Portal.

Thus, the minimum age for practicing sports (with the exception of technical, aviation, military-applied sports, as well as sports included in the program of the Paralympic and Deaflympic Games) has been reduced: from 7 to 6 years baseball, freestyle, from 8 to 7 years old modern pentathlon, short track, from 9 to 8 years Greco-Roman wrestling, water polo, triathlon, from 13 to 11 years old weightlifting (girls).

The decision was made in accordance with the international practice of organizing sporting events in individual sports.

The resolution came into force on September 24.
