Miles Morales updates with 60 fps and ray-tracing mode

The excellent title of Insomniac offers a nice update on PlayStation 5.

Until now the game offered two graphics options, to be activated according to individual preferences: a “fidelity” mode and a “performance” mode.

The first offered 4K, at 30 frames per second, with ray-tracing enabled. Ray-tracing being this technology straight from the world of PC games (and cinema before that), and which offers improved visual rendering, thanks to more realistic lighting effects.

The performance mode offered 60 frames per second, but without ray-tracing and other visual improvements.. In other words, in the windows or the many puddles that can be found all over New York, the reflection of Miles Morales is never visible. On the other hand, the fights are much more fluid and much more beautiful.

Now there’s a third option that offers the best of both worlds. The mode, dubbed “Performance RT”, combines 60 frames per second, adding ray-tracing. To achieve this, Insomniac adjusts the resolution of each scene, as well as the quality of reflections and the density of pedestrians on a case-by-case basis. A small concession that many players will be ready to make, there is no doubt.

The update (number 1.007) is already available, and is therefore, as you will have understood, highly recommended for all those who have a PlayStation 5. Because this obviously does not concern the PlayStation 4.
