A Three-Module Journey

The workshop is structured into three interconnected modules, designed to progressively build upon each other. Thes modules represent diffrent levels of actor training and are interwoven to create a holistic learning experience:

  • Physical Training
  • Vocal Training/polyphony
  • Improvisation/Composition elements

These elements form the daily spine of the proposed work, guiding participants through personal exploration while acquiring techniques that encourage interdisciplinary and organic advancement, blending physical, vocal, and imaginative practices.

Technical Elements Explored

Participants will engage with a variety of technical elements, including:

  • physical training: action/reaction, presence, rooting, physical awareness, elements of Kalarpayatu (Indian martial art).
  • Partnership exercises: Work flow and overview,listening and intuition,elements of contact.
  • Vocal training: breathing, incorporation of sound, use of resonators, harmony/dissonance, body/voice techniques, from sound to text.
  • singing: from oral transmission to choral polyphony, monody/polyphony relationship, polyphony race.
  • Improvisation,composition,and spatialization.
  • Views and relaxation techniques.

The Broader vision

“The Collective Body,” now in its fifth edition,has a long-term vision: to activate a theatrical research garrison on italian soil by providing training and artistic pathways for young artists and performers.
