Wednesday, Arsenal had a satisfying evening after 2-1 win over Liverpool, the brand new champion of England. At ranking, the Gunners are ninth two days before the start and can still hope to grab, at most, sixth place. Not enough, however, to make us forget the poor overall results of the London club in the league as well as in the European Cup.
Confined to secondary roles and excluded from the Big Four for the fourth consecutive season, Arsenal no longer has the real punch of a cannon on football fields. On the other side of the Channel, a mass exodus is even announced this summer. Not surprising. Difficult indeed for a club relegated to the background to keep its best elements.
Arteta concerned about the transfer window
A concern of which the trainer of Londoners, Mikel Arteta is perfectly aware. At the microphone of Skysports, the Spaniard even signed a declaration that will not reassure Arsenal fans. Asked about the Gunners transfer window, Pep Guardiola’s former deputy conceded that the club’s relative investment in the market has become a concern.
