“Jeopardy” Host Mikael Tornving Leaves “Company Svan” to Pursue Personal Freedom
STOCKHOLM,SWEDEN – Mikael Tornving is stepping down as Gunde Svan’s sidekick on the Discovery+ program “Company Svan” after three seasons, but insists he was not fired. Tornving, currently hosting a new season of “Jeopardy,” revealed his departure was a personal choice driven by a desire for more flexibility and freedom. Henrik hjelt will replace Tornving in the fourth season of “Company Svan,” set to air this autumn.
Tornving clarified to Expressen that his decision stemmed from wanting to prioritize personal pursuits. “I just wanted to do ‘Jeopardy’ because I’m about to step down,” he said.”And besides, I have spent enough summers in field uniform on an exercise field in my life.” He emphasized there were no issues with the program itself, stating, “I think I can now. There was nothing… I didn’t want to continue with it simply. Without wanting to be free.”
The television personality plans to dedicate his newfound free time to personal interests, including extended stays at his cottage and a motorcycle trip to Poland with a friend. “I’ll do things I want to do,” Tornving explained.”I go up to the cottage and fix a couple of weeks. Or I’m there for a week and discover that it is indeed good weather and gives me out and walks on the mountain for two more weeks.” He also looks forward to traveling without the constraints of peak season.
