The Councilor for Transport and Mobility of the City of Mijas, Nicolás Cruz, has reported this week of the new measure promoted by the Consistory to facilitate the movement of those residents who do not have the means to access the La Purísima cemetery on the occasion of the arrival of All Saints’ Day.

A service that will be available from next Monday, October 26 until the 31st of the same month.

In this way, and starting next Monday, a 9-seater taxi will depart from 09:00 am and every two hours from the BP del Puerto gas station, as well as another from 10 am from Plaza Virgen de la Peña .

“This service will be offered until 7:00 p.m., and is made available as a priority to those older residents of Mijas Pueblo who have no way of traveling to the cemetery to visit their loved ones on these special dates, all for the sake of to facilitate movement and avoid the agglomeration of both people and vehicles at the entrance of this enclosure “.

In addition, Cruz reports the news:

“The novel measure is launched given that the installation of the current mobile funeral home does not allow us to offer the traditional minibus service that had been provided in previous years since it could not currently access until the entrance of the Cemetery.”

Likewise, and according to reports from the department, on November 1 the service will be established from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with departures every hour from the aforementioned gas station and from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from the Plaza Virgin of the Rock.

If more vehicles are needed, they state that “from the Mijas Radio Taxi Association, they have committed to using the taxis they have in the area so that all those who wish to can go to the cemetery.”

In addition, on the way, the vehicles will pass through the Plaza de La Paz, Casa Museo and Bar El Niño, picking up those who need them.

This measure is thus added to those already announced a few days ago from the Consistory with the implementation of a special device for access to facilities with reduced capacity.
