(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 2 – The tension is mounting between the 180 rescued migrants who are on board the Ocean Viking: some threaten to jump into the sea. This was stated by Sos Mediterranee which denounces the “lack of solidarity” of the EU countries: “once again we are left in limbo without any indication of a port of landing”. The people were recovered in 4 different operations in 5 days in the Italian and Maltese Sar areas.
“Some of the survivors have been in precarious conditions at sea for 8 days. The situation is unbearable,” explains the French NGO.
