Ahmed Hossam, “Mido”, the former coach of the Egypt Clearinghouse, revealed that Al-Ahly wants to postpone the top game against Zamalek in the league, pointing to any football coach who will welcome the postponement due to the time factor between the two summits besides the pressure of the matches.
He added, “Mido” in comments on the “Abu Dhabi Sports” screen on Sunday evening: “It is true that the match is being held on time, but the real crisis is with Amr Al-Janaini, who announced that security agrees to hold the match on time.”
The coach and star of the former Zamalek continued his speech: “The delay will be in the interest of the two teams. Al-Ahly will play an easy way in this crisis, which is the export of Zamalek in this file by asking them to postpone.”
He continued: “Al-Ahly administration headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib has a philosophy through silence, contrary to Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek Club, who demands his requests himself.”
It is scheduled to meet Al-Ahly with its rivals Zamalek twice in the current season, where the first match will be held next Thursday in Abu Dhabi, UAE within the Egyptian Super, with the summit to be renewed on the 24th of the same month within a deferred week from the fourth week.
It is worth noting that after the League Summit, Al-Ahly will face its South African counterpart Sundowns on the 29th of this month, in return Zamalek will play Tunisia’s Esperance on 28 of the same month in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.
