Microsoft’s fix may slow down your computer’s performance

Microsoft notes that security updates previously released to ensure Windows devices with the latest processors do not suffer from data errors appear to slow performance for some users, reports The Register.

The performance reduction should affect Bitlocker, TLS and storage and mainly for enterprise customers. According to Microsoft themselves, AES-based work can take twice as long after the updates.

To restore performance, affected users need to install either the preview version of Windows released on July 23 or the security update released on July 12.
