Microsoft wants approval to acquire Activision Blizzard | Technician

Microsoft plans to make a series of commitments with the European Commission next week, the news agency reports Reuters. With this, the software company hopes to get approval to take over game company Activision Blizzard.

According to the press service, Microsoft wants to promise, among other things, that Activision Blizzard games will be released for the PlayStation for at least another ten years. Sony is one of the parties strongly opposed to the acquisition. The company is afraid that the popular call of DutyActivision games will soon be playable only on Microsoft’s Xbox.

The European Commission shares these concerns and has launched a Broad search upon acquisition. All companies affected by the takeover can still oppose the takeover until January. All objections will be listed.

By making commitments now, Microsoft wants to do it Reuters before the publication of the list. The company hopes this will allow the acquisition to be completed more quickly.

On April 11, 2023, the European Commission wants to decide whether the takeover can go ahead. British and American regulators are also still investigating the takeover.
