Microsoft Surface Duo phone with two screens will be out in September | NOW

Microsoft will release its Surface Duo on September 10, the company writes blog. The Android phone has two screens and will initially cost $ 1,399 ($ ​​1,189) in the United States.

The Surface Duo is similar to foldable devices such as Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, but without a foldable screen. Instead, the device has two screens next to each other on the inside, which can be folded together. It concerns two OLED screens of 5.6 inches with a resolution of 1,800 by 1,350 pixels.

The screens can be used separately, but also as one screen. In that case, the display measures 8.1 inches. There is an interruption in the middle. The device has no screen on the outside. However, one screen can be folded completely behind the other.

Microsoft provides the Surface Duo with an 11 megapixel camera on the inside. This allows users, for example, to make video calls.

The Verge know that the Surface Duo has a Snapdragon 855 chip, 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space. There is no support for 5G. A battery is placed under both screens, with a total battery size of 3,577 mAh.

It is not known when the Surface Duo will appear in the Netherlands and at what price. A spokesman for Microsoft was unable to comment on this on Wednesday morning.
