Michigan couple dies a minute apart

In Michigan, United States, a couple died just one minute in a row. Cal and Linda Dunham fell asleep holding hands.

Cal and Linda Dunham’s family are in mourning. The couple from Grand Rapids, Michigan, died in quick succession. As the relatives confirmed, the 59-year-old and the 66-year-old succumbed to a corona infection. Both had therefore already a complete vaccination protection, but were affected by previous illnesses.

Her parents Cal and Linda Dunham have always done everything together, said Sarah Dunham, the couple’s daughter, to “Fox17”. “They were the kind of people you just looked at and thought, ‘I want to be their age, I want to have that kind of relationship when I’m that age.'”

They were rolled side by side in their beds

The daughter said that the couple who had now died had always been very careful during the corona pandemic. Cal and Linda Dunham have been fully vaccinated for months. On a camping trip they suddenly felt sick and assumed they had caught a small cold. However, the couple’s condition deteriorated badly, so that both were hospitalized and connected to ventilators. When the doctors were unable to do anything for them, they were taken to a room where Cal Dunham died at 11:07 a.m. last Sunday and his wife Linda died at 11:08 a.m.

“She always joked and said, ‘Well, you will go before me, I’ll follow you right after, I promise.’ And she actually did, she followed him closely, “said daughter Sarah Dunham, describing a memory of her parents. She also expressed her anger at people who are not taking the coronavirus pandemic seriously.
