PENANG – Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh surprised diners at Red Garden Food Paradise in George Town, penang, on Monday evening while seemingly filming a project.
The 63-year-old actress, a Malaysian icon originally from Ipoh, arrived in casual clothing before changing into a blue gown to perform several Malay songs, according to onlookers. the crowd enthusiastically participated in a sing-along, capturing the performance on their phones.
The nature of the filming remains unclear, with reports suggesting it could be for a commercial or a fashion program.
Yeoh made history in 2023 as the first actress of Asian descent to win the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022). She is currently slated to appear in Wicked: For Good, a sequel to the 2024 musical fantasy film Wicked, alongside Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Jeff Goldblum.
