BRUSSELS – EU leaders Charles Michel and Ursula von der Leyen will speak to each other in person for the first time on Monday afternoon at 5 p.m. since their painful meeting with Turkish President Recep Erdogan a week ago in Ankara. The presidents of the European Council of government leaders and the European Commission, respectively, are meeting in Brussels about the affair that has come to be called sofagate, in order to prevent such a diplomatic slip abroad from occurring again in the future, the committee spokesperson confirms.
