Michael Jackson’s grandson to play in ‘King of Pop’ biopic

The 2019 documentary “Leaving Neverland” follows the story of Wade Robson and James.

Safechuck, who claimed they were friends with Jackson and was attacked by him at ages 7 and 10 respectively in the early 1990s.

In 2020, an appeals court in California ruled that the two men could pursue their allegations through a lawsuit against the late singer, but the Jackson family denied those allegations and won their appeal later that year.

Jackson rose to prominence as a child with his family’s pop band The Jackson 5 and went on to a solo career that made him one of the most famous people in the world before his death in 2009 at the age of 50. His hits include his 1982 album “Thriller,” which featured title tracks such as “Billie Jean.”

Jaafar Jackson is the son of Jermaine Jackson, Michael Jackson’s older brother, who is also a singer and producer. “Jaafar plays my son,” Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, said in a press release.

“It’s great to see him carry on Jackson’s legacy. Both as an actor and an actor.”
