Mexico registers 429 deaths from COVID; case trend down 26%

Health authorities reported 429 more deaths from COVID-19, for a total of 180 thousand 536 deaths confirmed by the disease.

2,252 more cases were also confirmed, for which there are already two million 43 thousand 632 people who have fallen ill from the virus, since the beginning of the epidemic.

However, it is considered that 47 thousand 168 (2%) are active cases of COVID for presenting symptoms in the last 14 days.

In Press conference, the authorities also estimated a reduction in cases estimated to be 26%, between weeks 5 and 6 of the year.

At the national level, there is an occupancy of 33% in general hospital beds; in beds with a fan it is 32%.

Vaccination against COVID

According to official records, at least 38,790 doses of COVID vaccines were applied this Monday.

The accumulated advance is one million 733 thousand 404 people; so far, 456 thousand are complete vaccination schedules.

70% of first-line health personnel have received the second dose, while 608,275 older adults have already received the first.
