Class I prison fire in Tangerang, Banten claimed 41 lives. The fire, which is thought to have been triggered by an electric short circuit, occurred in an over-occupied prison.
Then in West Java, thousands of high school or equivalent held face-to-face learning (PTM). West Java Education Office said the school had prepared two schemes.

PTM in West Java, Disdik Prepares Two Learning Schemes
A total of 1,471 high school and vocational schools in West Java held face-to-face learning (PTM) this week. Head of the West Java Education Office (Disdik Jabar) Dedi Supandi said there were two schemes prepared by schools to conduct PTM.
The first scheme, the school applies a shift pattern and the second is a block pattern. The shift pattern is usually used for SMA, and the block pattern is applied for SMK.
“Those who use shifts, for example, they do it like in high school, enter at 7 and leave 10.30. After that, they spray disinfectant. And there are friends at SMK who do it per week or per block,” said Dedi after reviewing the implementation of PTM at SMKN 9 and 13 Bandung, Wednesday (8/7/2021).
Dedi said that at this week’s PTM event, only 25 percent of SMK students could enter. This is due to the limited tools in the SMK that organizes PTM. “But if the SMA is above 50 percent,” he said.
His party has also assigned schools to form a COVID-19 Prevention Task Force team, this is done to anticipate the emergence of COVID-19 clusters among students.
“If a case occurs at school, it will be handled immediately, immediately report it to the puskesmas or to the COVID-19 Task Force,” he said.
One of the class XII students of SMK Negeri 3 Bandung, Nabila (15) welcomed the implementation of PTM. The reason is, so far the interactions that have been carried out are quite limited in the virtual space.
“If PPJ or online is difficult, yes, for those of us who are majoring in fashion. If the material is given online, it is difficult to understand. Face-to-face like today can only really understand,” said Nabila.
