Messi Stop Negotiating a New Contract, Want to Leave Barca?

Barcelona

Barcelona more chaotic. The superstar Lionel Messi reportedly did not want to extend his contract which means he will leave in the summer of next year.

The rumor was passed by Cadena SER, Friday (3/7/2020) local time. Messi’s own contract will expire in 2021 and talks to extend his collaboration with Barcelona have begun.

However, Messi has now changed his mind. Quoted Reuters, the owner of six Ballon d’Or was reportedly angry because of leaked media reports that seemed to make him look responsible for several incidents in Barcelona such as the sacking of Ernesto Valverde in January, as well as dissatisfaction with Barca’s squad of inferior quality.

AS explained in more detail about Messi’s frustration. The 33-year-old footballer was fed up with all the problems at his club, the strange atmosphere that was constantly felt in the dressing room and especially, some in Barcelona always blamed him for everything that went wrong.

Messi has expressed his frustration with his closest circle and complained that he did not want to be responsible for anything other than his performance on the pitch. It also said Messi had also said his plans to important players at the club.

Barcelona threatened to fail to defend the Spanish League title after falling behind four points from Real Madrid. No-chances are open after running aground in the Copa del Rey, and they don’t look convincing in the Champions League.

Barcelona’s aging squad is suspected to be one of the big factors. Messi feels blamed for Barcelona’s recent poor form and is angry at club decisions which he thinks have failed to bring in the right players who can support him including the failure to “repatriate” Neymar.

It is still fresh in your mind regarding Messi’s feud with club director Eric Abidal, and most recently with coach Quique Setien and his assistant Eder Sarabia. Criticism directed at Messi for his attitude towards the coaching staff and the leak of a number of private talks was said to make him tired.

Messi has strengthened the Barcelona first team since 2004. So far La Pulga has been Barcelona’s main pillar and has scored 630 goals in 724 appearances which helped his team win 34 trophies.
