BUENOS AIRES, October 9 (BNA) Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi led his country to victory over his Ecuadorian counterpart with a clean goal in the match that brought together the two teams this morning in the South American continent qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
Barcelona striker Messi scored the game’s only goal from a penalty kick in the 13th minute of the match.
With this result, Argentina scored the first 3 points at the start of the South American qualifiers, which are held in a one-round league system, with the participation of all the continent’s 10 teams.
