In the middle of preparation Spanish towards Euro 2020, Jordi Alba talk about travel Barcelona last season. Various topics were discussed, such as fate Ronald Koeman, future Lionel Messi, until the most annoying, leave Luis Suarez.
Last season was ups and downs for Barcelona, even since the start of the season. Starting from the drama of Messi’s transfer, Luis Suarez’s expulsion to Atletico Madrid, to Koeman’s chair which continues to be undermined, following Barcelona’s unstable performance.
In the end, Barcelona had risen to compete for the Spanish League title, even though it ended an anticlimactic. In the Champions League, they were devastated after being brushed by Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16.
But at least there is a Copa del Rey trophy that has been brought back to Camp Nou. It was definitely better than the previous season, where they ended the season without a title.
Koeman, with a squad that is not ideal and in the midst of the club’s financial crisis, is considered capable of maintaining quality Barcelona stay at the top. Therefore, Alba is happy that the Dutch coach can stay next season.
“He’s had a good season. It’s not easy, with a squad filled with young players. Playing with a three-back scheme gives us stability, and that’s our best game scheme. Group management is also good,” said Alba, quoted by Diario Sport.

Messi So far, there has been no sign of a contract extension with Barcelona. So far, only President Joan Laporta has been shouting in the media, believing that La Pulga will survive. What is Alba’s response?
“Hopefully he stays. He hasn’t said anything yet. But that would be good news, because it will make our team better, give us a chance to win lots of titles. I’m actually close to a lot of players, but I’m closer to Messi and (Andres) Iniesta,” he continued.
Come the talk of the fall of the LaLiga title last season to Atletico Madrid. Ironically, there is Suarez, who contributed 21 goals and became the winner in the last match of the Spanish League against Real Valladolid.

In this case, Alba criticized Josep Maria Bartomeu, the former president of Barca for allowing that to happen.
“Luis has contributed a lot to Barcelona, then he (Bartomeu) gave it to a rival like Atlético and ended up winning the league. That’s ridiculous. I don’t like it,” Alba continued.
“Beyond the friendship that unites us, where else can you find a striker like him? He managed to silence a lot of people,” explained the 32-year-old defender.
Not to forget, Alba also talked about his future at Barca. He wants to continue until 2024, referring to his current contract.
“I never saw myself outside Barcelona, although for the last nine years I could have left, given what was said about me. I wanted to finish my contract, and the club didn’t say anything either, so I took it easy.”
