Mercedes presented the crossover as a wakeboarding towing vehicle :: Autonews

Mercedes-Benz first published a video with an experimental version of the electric crossover EQC called 4 × 4²… The video shows the capabilities of a car prepared for driving on difficult terrain.

The filming was attended by the Dutch athlete Sanne Meyer – world champion in wakeboarding… This is an extreme discipline in which an athlete rides behind a boat, holding on to the halyard, and performs various tricks and jumps using oncoming waves or artificial springboards. This time, an electric crossover played the role of a tug, which had to carry out complex off-road maneuvers, moving along the shore of the reservoir.

An experimental modification of the Mercedes-Benz EQC crossover was presented in mid-October 2020. The car received a significantly modernized independent suspension – engineers used new springs, levers and portal axles.

As a result, the ground clearance has increased to 293 mm, which is 151 mm more than the standard car and 53 mm more than the clearance of the G-Class SUV. The concept car is able to overcome fords up to 400 millimeters deep.

In addition, the car has got an increased track, thanks to which it has become wider by about 200 mm, additional underbody and engine compartment protection, as well as 20-inch wheels with off-road tires.

The power plant remained unchanged. Mercedes-Benz EQC 4 × 4² is equipped with two electric motors, which develop 408 hp in total. and 765 Nm of torque.
