Daimler Trucks, during the event dedicated to the technological strategies of the group held in Berlin, presented the world preview of the concept of the hydrogen truck with a fuel cell system.
The Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck – this is the name of the vehicle – will be a fuel cell powered electric truck with a range of up to 1,000 kilometers for flexible and demanding long-haul transport.
According to Daimler, thanks to the use of liquid hydrogen instead of gas (with a higher energy density), the vehicle’s performance will be able to match that of a truck with a heat engine.
The first tests for customers will be carried out in 2023, while the start of series production will not take place before the second half of this decade
