“Mercedes-Benz GLC 400e Facelift Review: New Features, Technology, and Design”

The Mercedes-Benz GLC is the most popular Mercedes model in the world, and the facelift wants to ensure that status remains firmly grounded.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV is the best-selling model of the German manufacturer in Romania, but also globally. 17% of all cars sold by Mercedes-Benz in 2022 were GLCs. We tested a Mercedes-Benz GLC 400e facelift to see what changes have been made to the most popular model in the current Mercedes-Benz range.

The car we tested was a well-equipped model with a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid engine. The combined power of this system is 381 hp, and the car can travel 130 kilometers in pure electric mode with a full battery. A configuration like the one we tested it will have a price of approximately 90,000 euros.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC has a new face

The aesthetic changes brought to the SUV GLC consist of the new headlights which, in the configuration we tested, came in the form of the new Digital LED optical blocks. At the front we can also see the more aggressive bar, which is part of the AMG Line package, as well as the radiator grille. Also part of the same package are the 19-inch rims, with an aerodynamic design. At the rear, the car will receive new optical blocks with a new light signature. In the case of the plug-in hybrid version, the trunk measures 470 liters, but there is the possibility of folding the seats for more cargo space.

New technologies in the interior

Inside, the GLC facelift brings new technology and an updated design. As we can expect from Mercedes, the materials used are of good quality, pleasant to the touch. The leather and microfiber seats are electrically adjustable and heated, and the headrests have an interesting adjustment that allows them to be adjusted in several directions.

The AMG Line trim steering wheel has a futuristic design with capacitive buttons and paddles. Behind it we find a digital board, which has a lot of displays and configuration modes, being completed by a head-up display. The 11.9-inch central screen runs Mercedes-Benz’s latest MBUX infotainment system, which offers navigation, phone connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as many other functions.
