Harvard men’s Golf Prepares for Hamptons Intercollegiate
WESTFIELD, N.J. - Harvard University’s men’s golf team is set to compete in the Hamptons Intercollegiate this week, continuing its fall season schedule.The tournament marks the Crimson’s third event of the fall, following appearances at the Rod Myers Intercollegiate and The Goat in September.
The Hamptons Intercollegiate provides a crucial opportunity for Harvard to build momentum as they approach the final tournament of their fall season. The team aims to improve upon their previous finishes of 7th and 9th, respectively, and refine their individual performances before heading to the Georgetown Intercollegiate in October.
The Crimson will field a roster including Jonathan Hartono, Barry Zhang, Ieuan Jones, Morgan Riley, William Ma, and Reese Jensen. Sophomore Ieuan Jones leads the team in scoring average with a 72.5 through six rounds, bolstered by top-20 finishes at both the Rod Myers Intercollegiate (T18) and The Goat (T17). Jones recorded an even-par performance at Duke University Golf Club and a six-over-par showing at the Naval Academy Golf Club to achieve those results.
Following Jones, Morgan Riley holds a scoring average of 73.8, with Barry Zhang at 74, William Ma at 75, and Reese Jensen at 75.3.
Harvard will conclude its fall season at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14, at echo Lake Golf Club in Westfield, New Jersey.
