Mendoza recorded 178 new cases of coronavirus this Friday, a slight drop after yesterday’s record, so the total accumulated since the pandemic began in March exceeded 3,000 infections. The death of four people with COVID-19 (including a 25-year-old girl) and the recovery of 46 patients were also announced.
The Laboratory Network of the Ministry of Health, Social Development and Sports reported that between late yesterday and today 674 determinations were processed, of which 496 were negative.
178 new positive cases were registered, distributed as follows:
- With a link due to close contact with COVID-19 positives: 131 patients. All with family ties and close contacts who presented symptoms and the Health team went out to swab.
- Health Personnel: 2 patients.
- People returning from an area with community circulation: 1 patient.
- Geritric Operative: 10 patients. 5 workers and 5 residents.
- Barrios Operation: 5 patients.
- Under investigation: 29 patients.
Also, the ministry announced the death of 4 patients with COVID-19:
- 87-year-old man admitted to Scaravelli Hospital on 08/03. The patient had severe psychological deterioration and bilateral pneumonia.
- 67-year-old man admitted to the Private Hospital on 07/31. The patient had comorbidities associated with his age.
- 69-year-old man admitted to the Sanatorio A Mano on 07/27. The patient had comorbidities associated with his age.
- 25-year-old woman admitted to the Santa Mara Clinic 45 days ago for lymphoma and physical deterioration with a fever of two weeks. According to the epidemiological investigation, the patient contracted COVID-19 during her hospitalization.
On the other hand, the reports provided by hospitals in the province indicated the recovery of 46 patients with COVID-19:
- Central Hospital: 3 patients.
- Perrupato hospital, 3 patients.
- Saporiti Hospital: 6 patients.
- Private Hospital: 2 patients.
- Hospital Santa Isabel de Hungra: 2 patients.
- Lencinas Hospital: 5 patients.
- French Clinic: 1 patient.
- Cuyo Clinic: 6 patients.
- Santa Clara Clinic: 3 patients.
- Fleming Hospital: 4 patients.
- Hospital El Carmen: 2 patients.
- Mendoza hotels: 9 patients.
Mendoza has 3,101 confirmed positive cases. There are 61 imported cases, people who have arrived from other countries, 2,539 due to close contact with someone who came from another country or tested positive for COVID-19 and 501 in epidemiological research.
Also, the province has 993 people recovered and 67 deaths from COVID-19.
It is important to remember that the Ministry of Health of Mendoza reports on all patients who enter the public and private health system of the province. In cases where a person from Mendoza tests positive in other national jurisdictions because he is studying in another province, because he lives in another place without registering the change of address or because he is doing temporary work, he will not be registered as a confirmed case in Mendoza.
