Memphis Depay has reported again on Monday at the training complex of Olympique Lyon. The 26-year-old attacker has almost recovered from a serious knee injury.
Memphis, like his teammates, had to undergo some medical tests in preparation for the resumption of training. Lyon will start training again this week, pending a decision on the remainder of the Champions League season.
Lyon published a video on the social media channels showing Memphis greeting the journalists present with “Bonjour, I’m back!”. According to the protocol, all players wear a face mask and give each other an elbow instead of a hand.
Memphis tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the league game against Stade Rennes on December 15. He seemed to be eliminated for at least half a year, but he soon did exercises with the ball again on an individual basis.

Koeman: Memphis certainly had reached European Championship
National coach Ronald Koeman of the Dutch national team announced last week that Memphis would have just reached the European Championship if it had continued. The tournament was recently moved by a year due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Ligue 1 was prematurely discontinued due to the corona crisis. Lyon finished seventh and therefore missed out on European football. The club still contested the decision of the French football association to court, but found no hearing.
Lyon still has a chance to win European football through the Champions League. The team of trainer Rudi Garcia defends in the return visiting Juventus in the eighth finals, which will probably be played in August, a 1-0 lead.
