Memory problems and shortness of breath: doctors talked about the consequences of COVID-19 – Ukraine News

Who gets postcoid syndrome?

According to experts, the post-like state occurs in about 20% of patients who have had SARS CoV-2 infection. Typically, its symptoms are felt for about three months from the onset of COVID-19 and cannot be explained by other diagnoses.




Symptoms of the syndrome

“Common signs of this condition are increased fatigue, shortness of breath, cognitive impairment and several other symptoms that also affect daily functioning. Symptoms may first be detected after initial recovery from COVID-19 disease or appear with the onset of the disease. They can change – weaken or aggravate – from time to time, “- says the WHO.

The definition of postcoid syndrome will help to better diagnose it, separating it from other diseases and ailments, and also to begin its treatment faster. The study of this syndrome will continue as new data become available and field research expands.

Mandatory vaccination in Ukraine

Ministry of Health of Ukraine approved the list of professionsfor which vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory. According to the order, for the period of quarantine established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease, employees are subject to mandatory vaccination against COVID-19:

  • central executive authorities and their territorial bodies;
  • local state administrations and their structural divisions;
  • institutions of higher, postgraduate, professional (vocational), general secondary, including special, preschool, extracurricular education, institutions of specialized education and scientific institutions, regardless of the type and form of ownership.

People who refuse to get the vaccine will be suspended from work without pay.
