A mountaineering group of 60 people was struck by lightning yesterday (29th) in Anhui, mainland China, causing more than 10 people to be injured, including 3 women who were seriously injured. Zhu Nu, who was seriously injured and in good condition, revealed that after being struck by lightning, she had a strange experience of “watching myself fall, but my body was completely unconscious for more than 10 seconds”.

According to the “Jimu News” report, Ms. Zhu from Hangzhou, Zhejiang signed up for a hiking tour with a travel agency and started climbing Tiejiang Mountain at 10:00 yesterday morning. Unexpectedly, there was only light rain in the forecast, and the weather was sunny when she first climbed. At 12:30 noon, it turned into a “thunderstorm”, which made it difficult for 60 members of the group to move forward. Zhu Nu, accompanied by a group of more than 10 people, suddenly lost consciousness when they walked under the dense forest less than 2 kilometers from the top of the mountain.

Zhu Nv said that at that timeDidn’t even see lightning, suddenly his whole body went numb, and then his arms and legs couldn’t be controlled. He could only watch himself fall straight, and he was unconscious and unable to move for more than 10 seconds. A member of the team told her afterwards, “It was only after you fell down that the thunder rang.” At that time, although Zhu Nu was conscious, she was quite uncomfortable. She lay on the ground for several minutes before she could barely be helped up. Burns, bruises on the right leg and bleeding from the back of the head.”

When Zhu Nu and other three seriously injured people were sent to the hospital, although they all suffered from myocardial damage, rhabdomyolysis, and early ventricular contraction, fortunately none of them were life-threatening after treatment, and they are still hospitalized for observation. However, some family members were dissatisfied with the handling of the travel agency, which charged 170 yuan (about NT$735) per person, pointing out that the current medical expenses are all at their own expense, and the travel agency has not communicated with the injured or their families about the compensation plan.
