Member of Dole Athletic Club Achieves Stunning Time in New York Marathon

Florence Vallet, a member of the Dole Athletic Club, has been back in the Pasteur city for two days. The athlete took part in the New York marathon and achieved a magnificent time after only three weeks of training. After being stopped for a few days for a surgical procedure, she represented the town of Dole very well and carried the colors of her club, the DAC, high by setting a time of 3 hours 48 minutes. “I’m happy, we got it done,” she confided a few moments after crossing the legendary finish line of 42,195 meters separating the Verrazano Bridge, the start of the marathon, from Manhattan, the finish of the race.

A “grandiose” marathon

“I don’t even have any stiffness, it was a magnificent, magical marathon. There were more than 50,000 marathon runners at the start of this race, can you imagine? I finished my marathon in 3 hours 48 minutes, I had given myself a time of around 4 hours given the little training I had done to be at my best following surgery a month and a half before the start. . »

Florence ranked 10,303 out of 51,290 participants and 2,448 out of 22,773 women. “During our stay, we were able to visit New York, we had booked a city pass which allowed us to visit five sites (the Empire Stadium Building, the American Museum of Natural History, the Top of the Rock Observatory, Statue of Liberty Ferry and 9/11 Museum and Memorial). It was a great experience that we had with my DAC guides and my children. A big thank you to them who followed me on the race. I saw them three times. They surprised me at the entrance to Central Park by bringing me the Made in Jura pennant. A big thank you also to my trainer Laurent Charton who gave me a great training plan and allowed me to finish the marathon without being tired.”
