Radebeul. Conquering the 400 steps to the Radebeul Spitzhaus is a small challenge for people with average fitness. Running up them, and doing so with protective equipment weighing up to 25 kilograms, including the bottle of breathing gas, is a real challenge. A total of 94 firefighters from the region and all over Germany faced this challenge on Saturday evening. They had to complete the circuit in teams of two, but not in sneakers and airy running clothes. Instead, they had to wear sturdy firefighter boots, fireproof trousers and jackets, helmets and gloves, and with a breathing mask on their faces.
