The Meilandjes immediately paid out of pocket for more than half of the purchase price of their new home in Hengelo in the Netherlands. The family, known from the Five series Chateau Meiland, could reach an agreement with the previous owners for 955,000 euros. The family paid them 535,000 euros in one go from figures from the Land Registry, which are public in the Netherlands.

This would leave a mortgage of 420,000 euros on the farmhouse with double garage, guest house and horse stable. Since there are no more guests at the chateau due to corona, the family is already staying in the Netherlands. The new season of Chateau Meiland also takes place there.
