Mega Image and eMag give up the partnership started eight years ago, after companies decided to focus on developing their own e-commerce projects

Mega Image and eMAG announce that, starting July 30, they will end by mutual agreement the partnership started eight years ago, and each will focus its efforts on the development of its own projects in e-commerce, a segment that has registered a strong acceleration in the last year.

“Focusing on our own online platform has always been at the heart of our long-term strategy. In the last year, we have accelerated our development in the ecommerce area, we have invested in our own dedicated warehouse, we have launched the mobile application with fast delivery service in two hours and we have expanded to the big cities in the country. We are at a time when our own platform is very well built and we will go further in a new stage of consolidation “, says Mircea Moga, CEO of Mega Image.

The Dutch-Belgian retailer Mega Image is the only supermarket that has developed its own online platform with a complete integration of services: from its own warehouse dedicated exclusively to online order preparation and delivery, to the online platform mega-image.ro and the Mega Image mobile application, offering thus two delivery options: fast, in a maximum of two hours or starting the next day.

In turn, eMAG has invested this year in expanding the easybox network nationwide and has launched Genius, the premium service with free delivery and, more recently, same-day delivery for customers in Bucharest. EMAG has also invested in the tazz by eMAG platform, which offers fast delivery for almost any small product.

“At a time when the evolution of ecommerce is accelerating, each of us has identified new development opportunities. Thus, eMAG will continue to support online commerce locally through new services that will help customers save time and money and entrepreneurs to develop their online business “, says Tudor Manea, CEO of eMAG.

Mega Image has about 880 stores in Romania, being one of the largest players in the food trade. The chain is active in the market of small shops, Mega Image supermarkets and modern Proximity Shop & Go units.

The eMAG Group has in its portfolio the eMAG brand, the Fashion Days online retailer, the PC Garage IT and electronics store, the Sameday Delivery courier company, the Depanero repair shop, the Conversion Marketing online marketing agency, the food delivery platform and more tazz products by eMAG and software company Zitec.
