The Mauritians responded to the Mega Blood Donation organized by the Blood Donors Association.
600 pints of blood were collected at 11 a.m.
The event started at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, at the Emmanuel Anquetil building in Port-Louis and will end at 6 p.m. An event in collaboration with RadioPlus.
Health Minister Kailesh Jagutpal, whose office is in the Emmanuel Anquetil building, told reporters that “to donate blood is a noble gesture”.
The objective of this Mega Blood Donation is to collect 1,500 pints of blood to compensate for the lack that will exist between the months of December 2020 and January 2021.
