The Ministry of Health has announced this Friday the implementation of additional, exceptional and transitory measures for four municipalities of the Valencian Community. Specifically in Elx, Orihuela, Guadassuar and Onda.
In the case of the first three populations, the most important measure is the limitation of meetings of more than six people both in public and private space. In addition, Ana Barceló’s department has approved a score of more measures that limit the 50% capacity for spaces and activities with public presence.
Regarding the measures that affect Then, the capacity is limited to 60% and the meetings to 10 people. Let’s remember that in the Valencian Community there is a recommendation (not a ban) of meetings with 10 people.
The Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, explains that the situation of Elx, Orihuela and Guadassuar is worrying because the technicians have verified that “sustained community transmission with a growing trend” is taking place. In the case of Onda, the epidemiological situation is not so serious but saturation of the primary care system has been detected and for this reason it has also decided to take measures.
Barceló explained that the measures are adopted for 14 days and that they can be reviewed at any time. He has also explained that in the case of Orihuela the measures only affect the city and a good part of its villages. The Orihuela Costa and Torremendo area is exempt.
