Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) visited the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati to discuss the potential of Indonesia’s marine resources. Trenggono believes that the contribution from his sector to the state can increase up to four times.

The meeting took place yesterday afternoon. From the photos presented, the meeting was also attended by all levels of echelon I and II from each ministry.
Sri Mulyani wrote that the economic contribution of the fisheries and marine sector was still very small, at 2.8 percent. Even though the potential is huge, where 62% of Indonesia’s territory is the sea. In fact, if it is optimized, it will have a big impact on the welfare of fishermen and the general public.
“I support the efforts of Mr. Trenggono and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries to improve policies, regulations and governance in Indonesia’s Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. So that the potential of Indonesia’s seas can become a source of prosperity for fishermen and the people of Indonesia,” wrote Sri Mulyani.
“The Minister also promised to increase Non-Tax State Revenue by 4-12 times with good regulation and governance steps (no corruption),” he continued conveying.
