Matt is a proud South Texan native, born and raised in Corpus Christi. After graduating from Mary Carroll School, Matt won a scholarship as a National Hispanic Scholar to Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. During his time at SMU, Matt was on the Dean’s Honors roll for several semesters and was always involved in numerous organizations on the College Campus. He graduated with a Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from SMU’s College of Business. Subsequently, Matt earned his Doctorate of Business Administration from the College of Business at the University of Texas at Dallas. After earning his J.D., Matt decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a Lawyer and entered South Texas School of Law in Houston. During his time at said School, he was awarded the CALI award for obtaining the highest grades in his research class and Legal Writing. Matt also held various positions with the Intellectual Property Law Society, Environmental Law Society, and the Animal Law Society.
In his spare time, Matt participates in various sporting activities and enjoys the countryside and spending quality time with his two dogs, Bella and Tango. He is a strong believer in environmental sustainability and attends several events a year to support the cause. As a lifelong fan of North Carolina Tar Heel basketball, Matt longs for the unpredictability and craziness of his Playoffs.
