Ahok arrived at the Solo Mayor’s official residence at around 19.30 WIB. Gibran greeted Ahok’s arrival.
They then entered the meeting room at the official residence.
Ahok said that he came to Solo to meet the eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) because there was a working visit to Cepu on Thursday (8/4/2021).
“I am on a working visit to Cepu. Because I am still going to stay in Solo early in the morning. When I was staying (Solo) I contacted the Mayor. There was no time to stop by,” said Ahok at Loji Gandrung Solo, Wednesday.
Ahok said that his visit to Loji Gandrung Solo was the second time.
The first visit was on 9 February 2012. At that time, the Mayor of Solo was held by Jokowi.
“I remember the record on February 9, 2012 when I met Pak Jokowi. At that time he was still the mayor. So this is the second time he has stopped to meet his son as mayor,” said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.
Ahok and Gibran’s meeting lasted about an hour. Ahok admitted that he did not discuss political issues.
In fact, he said, Gibran said that his business had now been given to his younger brother, Kaesang Pangarep.
Ahok assessed that Gibran had given good attention to the people of Solo.
“Mas Wali is already very good. I see that he has taken care of education, health, hospitals. It is only about the garden, maybe the city can be greener. Pertamina supports a lot of reforestation,” said Ahok.
Meanwhile, Gibran said his meeting with Ahok was only for dinner.
“Just eat,” said Gibran.
Gibran admitted that Ahok had given many inputs, especially related to green open spaces, to be added.
“A lot of talk about leadership. Beliaukan is one of the people I idolize. The person is firm and can check nothing, that’s all,” said Gibran.
