They say to each other “The forgotten people of Ségur”. Tuesday afternoon, around twenty caregivers from medico-social establishments or from the disability community organized a rally in front of the town hall of Bolbec to demand the same salary increase as the health sector. As part of the Ségur de la santé, the government has in fact granted additional index treatment to all employees of the hospital public service.
The demonstrators are asking to benefit from this increase of € 183 net per month. “We are all caregivers, whether we are in the medico-social, social or health sectors. However, there are employees who cannot claim the revaluation of 183 €, whether in the public or the private sector ”, explains Sandrine Guéroult, CFDT health-social secretary general for the Le Havre region and also nursing assistant in nursing homes.
Received in town hall
The people gathered believe that the medico-social and disability sectors will in fact become less and less attractive. The demonstrators, who responded to a national call from the CFDT, represent many establishments whose caregivers are also on the front line: the IMS (medico-social institution) and the Foyer Vallée d’Or de Bolbec, the SSIAD ( home care), the CSAPA (addictology support and prevention care center), the Goélands home in Fécamp and the Caux Vallée de Seine hospital center.
Four delegates were received at the town hall of Bolbec and listened to by the mayor, Christophe Doré, and Dominique Métot, municipal and departmental councilor, at the end of the gathering. The two elected officials showed their support for the claim and assured an intervention with the Ministry of Solidarity and Health and national elected officials.
