The Korean Medical Association has announced how to respond to adverse reactions related to vaccination of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine.

On the 6th, the Korea Medical Association said, “In the case of AstraZeneca vaccine, the frequency of fever (38.0 degrees or more) or muscle pain after vaccination is known to be 20 to 30%.” If it is within 24 hours, it is better not to take antipyretics unless it is difficult.”

The reason why taking antipyretic drugs is not recommended is that it may reduce antibody formation. The medical association recommended that treatment is unnecessary if there are no physical symptoms other than fever.

“If the fever rises above 38.5 degrees or is difficult, you can take antipyretic drugs,” said the medical association. “At this time, we recommend acetaminophen (tylenol), which has less effect on antibody formation. “If the fever is less than 38.5 degrees Celsius and within 24 hours of occurrence, it is recommended to take a break at home without visiting the hospital emergency room if it is not difficult.”

In addition, “If you have a high fever or have a lot of trouble and anxiety due to fever and muscle pain, consider outpatient treatment at a hospital or clinic during the day, and visit the emergency room in the evening and at night. “I recommend it.”
