The State of Carinthia announced on Sunday that the obligation to protect the mouth and nose at the Großglockner and in the Hohe Tauern National Park has been lifted from midnight. “Both the Großglockner Hochalpenstraßen AG and the national park have agreed to take additional measures and thus provide more security,” said LH Peter Kaiser (SPÖ). The regulation will expire on Monday.
Specifically, an additional parking space is to be provided. This allows more space to control the flow of visitors and, if necessary, to introduce block handling.
A ranger is parked in the national park especially for the information of the visitors. This ensures that both on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and in the National Park it is possible to keep a distance.
