McDonald’s is currently attracting attention again with its Happy Meal. The fast food company has come up with something special to delight its guests, both young and old. But there is a catch. And so customers only have one pressing question.
McDonald’s and Nintendo have done it again
This is a cooperation that is not new. Together with the gaming giant Nintendo, McDonald’s is once again turning its attention to fans of the virtual race track. Exclusive Mario Kart toys are now making the Happy Meal a coveted treat for console fans.

In fact, as the portal “ingame.de” reports, these are not new figures, but the same ones that caused collecting fever in the USA in 2022. There are eight different characters that bring the video game “Mario Kart” into reality in the form of plastic figures: Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Peach, Toad, Toadette, Yoshi and Bowser.
Mario Kart figures in Happy Meals currently only in Australia
There is a catch, however. McDonald’s is currently only offering the toys in Australian branches. The burning question that is now plaguing customers in this country is: When will the Happy Meal with the Nintendo figures come to Germany? Our editorial team asked McDonald’s – and was unfortunately put off. The fast food giant’s answer was: “We cannot yet reveal anything about possible promotions, because after all, we want to surprise our guests with them. We ask for your understanding in this regard.”
More news:
Whether with or without Nintendo characters, the Happy Meal is a remarkable success story for McDonald’s. It was created by advertising expert Dick Brams as “McDonaldland Fun-To-Go”, which was initially sold in St. Louis (USA) and promoted by the clown Ronald McDonald in commercials. The first menus contained characters from the arcade classic “Space Invaders”. In 1979, it was renamed “Happy Meal”. In Germany, the children’s menu was launched in 1988 as a “Junior Bag”, and it was not until 1999 that it was called “Happy Meal” in Germany.
