Mazda recommends a six-cylinder diesel with a consumption of 4.9 liters

The Japanese manufacturer Mazda has introduced a particularly economical six-cylinder diesel engine, which is also “one of the cleanest in the world”. The crossover CX-60 will receive the new engine.

Mazda has disclosed information about the 3.3-liter six-cylinder diesel engine e-Skyactiv D, which will receive the European modification of the crossover CX-60. Such an engine is equipped with a 48-volt starter-generator, and will also use DCPCI (Distribution-Controlled Partially Premixed Compression Ignition) technology, which ensures engine thermal efficiency over 40 percent in wide operating ranges and fuel consumption of 4.9-5.3 liters per 100 kilometers. . Depending on the type of drive, the power of the unit will be 200 or 254 horsepower.

Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv D, the most powerful all-wheel drive variant, develops 254 hp, provides a maximum torque of 550 newton meters and accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 219 km/h, and the amount of CO2 emissions is 137 grams. The 200 hp engine is even cleaner, producing harmful CO2 emissions of just 127 g/km. Both diesel engines work in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv D will be available to order at the end of August.
