Maya Manolova: We have a coincidence with ITN in the economic and financial part of the programs – Bulgaria

AND we have a coincidence in the economic and financial part of the programs. The main conversation was about the upcoming short-term and long-term decisions that the parliament has to make regarding the most vulnerable groups.

This was said to journalists by the chairman of PG “Stand up BG! We are coming!” Maya Manolova after an expert meeting with “There are such people”.

“We have commented on the recalculation of pensions in two steps – from October 1 as a result of the budget update, which will be made next month, and from January 1, the changes for pensions to continue, as well as support for the most vulnerable groups,” she said.

“Our insistence is that the minimum pension should be BGN 369, that the poverty line should be reached, and that all other pensions should be increased either on the basis of insurance income from one of the last years, or by increasing the coefficient of each year of insurance,” Manolova said.

“Certainly there will be changes from October 1, we continue to clarify the details,” she said, adding that there will be no recalculation from October 1 and the minimum pension will be BGN 369, as well as support for families with children and people with disabilities.

“There are no intentions for the privatization of BDB, nor for the introduction of concession of highways,” said Manolova. “This is clear, so we have not commented on it,” she added.

Maria Capone said that they completely coincide with the tax policy that ITN wants to pursue, ie. preservation of 10% corporate tax, preservation of the flat tax and inclusion of a non-taxable minimum, which from “Stand up BG! We are coming!” have promised, and raise the threshold for VAT registration. This is also a matter of calculations, with them in the program is 100 thousand levs, with us is 200 thousand, we will insist on at least reaching the European directive of 165 thousand, she added.

Capon pointed out that they also commented on decentralization – a certain percentage of the individual tax to remain in the municipality. She said that they agreed on a “weekend” tax, a “dividend” tax to be zero and a tax on sole traders to be reduced.

On the topic of “Justice” with “There is such a people” / ITN / we look in one direction,

Nadezhda Yordanova from Democratic Bulgaria told the media earlier today after a meeting at the expert level on judicial reform with the representatives of ITN.

She noted that she and her colleagues from ITN have differences, but nuances in some positions on the judicial topic, such as some elements of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Prosecutorial College, as well as details on the choice of the Prosecutor General, what the mechanism should be. Also when closing the special justice, how to regulate the status of magistrates. Yordanova added that talks on various issues with “There is such a people” will continue.

“We discussed our vision for the scope of the constitutional changes that we expect to happen. For us, the amendments to the JSA and the PPC that we have introduced are important, but we are ready for possible clarifications and changes within the parliamentary procedure,” Yordanova added.

The self-serving termination of the SJC’s mandate raises many questions and problems, including constitutional ones, Yordanova said, adding that Democratic Bulgaria is more concerned about such an approach.

The second round of negotiations to form a new government has begun.

After the “There is such a people” over the weekend sat at the table for talks with other parliamentary parties without GERB, now the consultations continue at the expert level. Parliament Speaker Iva Miteva announced that today the topic is justice. When the separate rounds of negotiations on all topics are over, it will become clear whether the parties will support Slavi Trifonov’s government.

“I guess by the end of the week there should be a cabinet with names ready.”

Radostin Vassilev from “There is such a people” said this to the media. He added that it was a decision of the political leadership whether he would be offered a ministerial post again, adding that he did not know that his trust had been taken away.

Asked whether he expects the mandate to form a government to be handed over by the president by the end of the week, Vassilev said it was the president’s prerogative.

“When he hands it over, we are ready, we must be ready, I guess we are ready,” he added, quoted by BTA.
