“May weather disappoints Bergen residents, but June brings hope of warmer days”

It is permissible to be dissatisfied with the May weather we are now putting behind us. Bergen did not register a single day above 20 degrees in the whole of May, writes TV 2. The last time this happened was in 2003, 2005 and 2015.

In a normal year, there should be four days above 20 degrees in Bergen, but that did not happen this year.

June is the first summer month of the year, and with it comes expectations of sunshine and warmth.

After a relatively cool May, many Bergens are probably hoping that the warmest season will live up to expectations.

And it does that to a certain extent, we are to believe the meteorologist on duty, Siri Wiberg.

– A lot of good weather is expected for the next week. On Friday, we can reach temperatures of up to 20 degrees, she says.

– Find yourself a solar wall

Wiberg also says that Bergen can prepare for several days of sunshine at the weekend and next week.

At the same time, temperatures are sensitive to changes in wind directions.

– On Friday, it will blow quite strongly with occasional stiff gales. Saturday will be more cloudy and foggy, but temperatures can remain quite high depending on the strength and direction of the wind.

The sun will therefore shine over the city, but the north wind will create a need to seek some shelter.

– I would recommend finding a south-facing wall that is well protected from the wind. Sit in the sun wall, enjoy the nice weather and get the sun on your face, says Wiberg.

Nor is rainfall expected before 8 June, which could increase the risk of forest fires in Western Norway.

– Several days of sunshine and no precipitation can cause the terrain to become drier.
