Maxiprocesso attacks 2015 Paris, the surviving kamikaze speaks

In court – Abdeslam is the key defendant and he showed up wearing black clothes. He spoke before the president of the court questioned him to ask him, as usual, his identity. “I want, first of all – said the Franco-Moroccan – to testify that Allah is the only god and that Mohammed is his messenger”. The President of the Court, Jean-Louis Peries, cut short these statements, replying simply but curtly: “We will see this later”.

“Fighter of the Islamic State” – Later, Abdeslam confirmed his identity, but refused to decline the particulars of his parents: “The names of my father and my mother – he said – have nothing to do here”. Finally, when asked about his profession – addressed to all the defendants – Salah Abdeslam replied that he had “abandoned the profession to become a fighter of the Islamic State”.

The bunker hall built on purpose – Thus began the trial of 20 men accused of the terrorist attacks of 2015 which caused the death of 130 people and hundreds of injured in a bunker courtroom built ad hoc inside a 13th century court. The defendants were led one by one into a glass case at the side of the courtroom, surrounded by armed officers. 14 defendants were present, including Abdselam, who has been detained for 5 years in a maximum security prison. The process will take 9 months.
