Max Verstappen won the world title in Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi and this caused a rush towards his official fan shop. Merchandise was ordered en masse in the Max Verstappen Fanshop, but there was no question of good quality. It rained complaints. Also, some of the orders were not delivered.

Verstappen has gained enormous popularity in recent years. Not only in the Netherlands he knows how to win over more and more fans, but also abroad he has become an absolute superstar. The world title in Abu Dhabi further increased his popularity and caused a huge run on the products from his official fanshop, the Max Verstappen Fanshop. Formula 1 fans from all over the world ordered jerseys, t-shirts, caps and photo books en masse. The webshop was unable to cope with this enormous demand, as it turns out. Much of the merchandise turned out to be of poor quality and some of the orders were not delivered at all.

It’s raining complaints from Verstappen fans

On social media, including on the Max Verstappen Fans page by GPFans, it rained complaints about the Red Bull driver’s webshop. The TV program Radar decided to dive in and came to the conclusion that many fans hadn’t gotten what they hoped for. ‘Eva ordered two adult sweaters and a sweater for her son. Strangely enough, one adult sweater did not have the ‘official product’ label in it and the finish was also different. ‘It is the same weight as the children’s sweater, so the quality is really less’. The color also seems different and the finish of the strings is different’, they report.

Many fans complained about ‘Aliexpress quality’ and in a response the Max Verstappen Fanshop let you know how the quality differences came about. They inform all buyers that “the servers of the fanshop malfunctioned when Max Verstappen was the first Dutchman to win Formula 1 on December 12. The demand turned out to be many times greater than the supply that we could have predicted and hoped for. We therefore immediately joined in, with the idea that ultimately not to disappoint any fan worldwide.”

However, that scaling did not result in customization, but quantity instead of quality. Deliveries had to be made quickly, so sweaters of moderate quality were produced. “Unlike the first batch, these hoodies and shirts do not contain a label with ‘official product’ in it, the cords have a different finish and the items have a slightly different composition of the fabrics”, the Verstappen Fanshop acknowledges. .

People who have ordered a product and are not satisfied can return it free of charge. However, no new sweaters are made and delivered, so the choice is up to the customer.
