“Maternal and Fetal Health Care”: One Million Nine Hundred Thousand Women Examined for Better Health

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry the health And residents, that the initiative aims at early detection of diseases transmitted from the mother to the fetus, and the provision of free treatment and health care, as well as the early detection of HIV infection, HIV, and syphilis for pregnant women.

For his part, Dr. Fawzi Fathi, Executive Director of the initiative, said that the initiative follows up the condition of the mother and newborn for a period of 42 days, after the end of pregnancy, to discover risk factors for the mother or the newborn, and to take appropriate measures, in addition to disbursing the necessary micronutrients during the postpartum period.

He added that the initiative guarantees the confidentiality of analyzes, and proper testing by selecting reagents of international quality standards, and also includes advice to prevent diseases, and requires approval and the woman’s acceptance of the service.
