Extended hours at the hospital sampling center

The Covid sampling center at the Orléans hospital has adapted. Since Monday August 3, it has extended its opening hours, from Monday to Saturday, now from 9.15 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.. The hypothesis of an access also on Sunday is under study.

In this dedicated Algeco, patients can come and perform either a nasopharyngeal PCR test free of charge (there is no longer a need for a prescription), either a serology (blood test, on prescription).

“We test between 70 and 120 people a day. We had more than a hundred last Saturday. The profiles are varied: travel plan, upcoming surgery, contact cases …“specifies Clémence Guillaume, biologist in the microbiology laboratory.

The appointment can be obtained within 24 or 48 hours. Even during the day in case of emergency. “These are 10 minutes per person for sampling and administrative time. You have to take the person’s address and phone number.” Because patients discover their results within 48 hours maximum, via a secure platform. If they are positive, Social Security will contact them and they will receive instructions by SMS.
